VOLUNTEERS

We want you! CrossRoads depends on our volunteers. There are several ways you can be involved. This page is sure to have a have place where you can use your talents to serve.

1.) Year Round Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteers are needed to help with retreats, carpentry, electrical work, clearing brush, trail maintenance, general house-keeping, painting, staining, landscaping, and some other various special projects. We can arrange projects for individual volunteer groups. Call the camp office for more information.

2.) Bi-Annual Volunteer Events: Each year in the Spring and Fall CrossRoads hosts two statewide Volunteer Events. It’s a great opportunity to fellowship and serve with other Christians across the state of VA. We work hard during the days, and in the evenings we enjoy time together in worship, fellowship, playing games, roasting smore’s and telling stories by the fireside. Projects vary from event to event and there is something for everyone. There is no cost for these events, CrossRoads provides your lodging and meals as a small token of our gratitude. We hope you’ll join us this year!

Please visit our Upcoming Events page to sign up and for more information.

3.) Summer Camp Volunteer Opportunities: CrossRoads needs volunteers, nurses and missionaries for a successful week of camp. All summer volunteers must complete the Online Volunteer Application .
Note: The application is an online process. You will need to create an account with a username and password. All volunteers must consent to a background check. Summer Camp volunteer opportunities are limited and are filled on a first come first serve basis. Summer 2017 volunteer opportunities available from June 12th through August 13th.

General Summer Camp Volunteer Information: Adults ages 18 and older may serve as a week long summer camp volunteer, nurse or missionary.

Volunteers: Service may include setup and clean up in the dining hall, assist in various camp programs such as crafts, missions adventures and canteen, and offer an encouraging smile or hug to campers and staff. They may also lend a hand with odd jobs around camp such as filing or making phone calls in the office, sorting the day’s mail, and taking pictures for the weekly video. Volunteers are housed together in the House of Happiness. Volunteers arrive during the beginning of the week check-in time and will have an orientation on the first day of camp.

Nurses: Certified nurses with a current license may serve as a summer camp nurse for a week at a time. Camp nurses administer medications, care for sick or injured campers, and are on-call throughout the day for emergencies. Nurses may also help with volunteer jobs and participate in camp activities as time allows. Nurses are housed in the Nurse’s Station, and they should arrive 1 hour prior to the beginning of the week check-in time.

There is always a need, so give us a call or email us, and let’s work together to keep CrossRoads the beautiful place God has designed it to be.
