Directions to CrossRoads


We strongly advise against using online mapping services or directions from a GPS unit, especially from the west, as you may end up lost in the national forest.

From the north on US-29 (Charlottesville, Richmond, Northern VA)

  • From I-64 in Charlottesville, go south on US-29 toward Lynchburg for 33.7 mi.
  • Turn right onto VA-56 W (Tye Brook Hwy) and travel for 5 mi.
  • At the Y intersection, bear left toward VA-151 S (Patrick Henry Hwy) and travel for .1 mi.
  • Turn left onto VA-151 S (Patrick Henry Hwy) and travel for .2 mi.
  • Turn right onto Rt. 778 (Lowesville Rd) and travel for 2.5 mi.
  • Turn right onto Rt. 666 (Woodson Rd) and travel for 400 ft.
  • Turn left onto Rt. 629 (Little Piney Rd) and travel for 5 mi.

From the south on US-29 (Lynchburg, Danville, Bedford, Appomattox)

  • From US-460 in Lynchburg, go north on US-29 toward Charlottesville for 15 mi.
  • Take US-60 exit.
  • Turn right on US-60 W (E Lexington Ave) and travel for .7 mi.
  • At the traffic circle, continue onto US-60 W and travel for 5.7 mi.
  • Turn right onto Rt. 778 (Lowesville Rd) and travel for 7.2 mi.
  • Turn left onto Rt. 666 (Woodson Rd) and travel for 400 ft.
  • Turn left onto Rt. 629 (Little Piney Rd) and travel for 5 mi.

From the north or south I-81 (Roanoke, Staunton, Winchester)

  • From I-81, take exit 188A (US-60 E) toward Buena Vista.
  • Take US-60 E toward Buena Vista and travel for 24 mi.
  • Turn left onto Rt. 778 (Lowesville Rd) and travel for 7.2 mi.
  • Turn left onto Rt. 666 (Woodson Rd) and travel for 400 ft.
  • Turn left onto Rt. 629 (Little Piney Rd) and travel for 5 mi.
  • Youth Groups, Retreat Groups, and Motorcycles 10/06/2011 - I’ve often commented about how interesting it is to see the difference from one group to another as the weekends go by. This past weekend was especially fun as so many of the different types of groups were here at the same time.
